Tips for positioning your console

  • Do not put your console in an enclosed space. Put the console in an open area with lots of ventilation.

  • Do not stack electronic devices on top of or below your console. Make sure the console and its power supply are on a hard surface.

  • Do not put your console on something soft (like a bed, sofa, or rug).

  • Keep the console away from heat sources, such as ventilation openings on televisions and electronic devices. Also, keep the console away from heating vents and direct sunlight.

3. Turn on the console.

Clear your system cache
The system cache contains temporary files used by your Xbox 360 console. Clearing the system cache may correct your screen freeze problem.

Note  Clearing the system cache doesn't remove your gamertag, downloaded content, or game files from the console.

When you clear the cache, the following things occur:

  • Achievements stored in the cache are removed, though not permanently. The achievement information will be automatically downloaded from Xbox LIVE.

  • Previously downloaded game updates are removed, but don't worry. You'll be prompted to download these updates again before you play the games.

Let's clear your system cache

  1. Go to My Xbox, and then select System Settings.

  2. Select Memory.

  3. Highlight any storage device, and then press Y on your controller.

    Important
Do not press the A button.

  4. Select Clear System Cache.

  5. Select Yes to the following prompt:

  6. Repeat the action that previously caused your screen to freeze.
